Rachel M. Garrard is an Appellate Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, and leads the Appellate Department at Robberson Schroedter LLP. With a focus on business and civil litigation appeals, Ms. Garrard not only handles the firm’s writs and appeals but also lends her writing talent and appellate expertise to the firm’s litigation through major motion work and more. She also provides appellate consulting prior to and during trial and aids in preserving nuanced issues for appeal.

Prior to joining Robberson Schroedter LLP, Ms. Garrard spent her career focused on appeals, earning her a reputation for intellectual rigor, sharp analysis, and a clear writing style. Ms. Garrard has successfully handled high-profile writs and appeals in both state and federal appellate courts, including the California Court of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the California Supreme Court. In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Garrard is committed to pro bono work, providing legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations. Among her most notable cases, she secured political asylum for a child from Guatemala who fled his country to escape gang violence and abuse, later extending her representation to the child's younger brother, who was seeking the same relief.
